Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to fall by Rs3.70 to Rs6.35 per litre from December 1, 2025, giving consumers long-awaited relief.
Officials say the government will announce the revised prices on Sunday, with early estimates showing petrol may drop by Rs3.70 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.28 per litre.
Kerosene oil is expected to decrease by Rs0.73 per litre, while light diesel oil may see the most significant cut of Rs6.35 per litre.
OGRA will send its pricing summary to the Petroleum Division, after which the Petroleum Division and Finance Ministry will forward their recommendations to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for final approval.
The new prices will be implemented from Monday, December 1. With the adjustment, petrol may settle at Rs261.75 per litre and high-speed diesel at around Rs280.12 per litre. In the previous review, petrol prices remained unchanged, but diesel prices increased by Rs6 per litre.
Meanwhile, the Senate was informed about an additional petroleum levy introduced for road construction. The government has been charging an extra Rs8 per litre on petrol and Rs7 per litre on diesel since April 16 to fund road projects.
From April 16 to September 30, the surcharge brought in Rs66.13 billion, and officials confirmed that it continues to be included in current fuel prices.
