Heavy rainfall continued across Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Friday, leading to waterlogging on several major roads and highways. Accumulated rainwater disrupted the smooth flow of traffic in various parts of both cities.
Motorists faced slower traffic due to wet road conditions. Authorities advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and drive with extra caution during the ongoing spell of rain.
Relevant departments remained active in clearing rainwater from low-lying areas to restore normal traffic movement as quickly as possible.
The rainfall brought pleasant weather to Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with a noticeable drop in humidity across the twin cities.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rainfall over the coming days. According to the department, the current monsoon spell is expected to continue until August 5, which is likely to keep temperatures lower and the weather pleasant.
According to the Meteorological Department, 62 mm of rain was recorded at Saidpur in Islamabad, 48 mm at Golra and 42 mm at H-8. In Rawalpindi, 99 mm of rainfall was recorded at Katarian, while 63 mm was recorded at Shamsabad.
The water level in Nullah Lai rose to 7.5 feet at Katarian and reached 6.5 feet at Golmandi. Several low-lying areas of Rawalpindi were flooded after the heavy downpour.
Rainwater entered homes located on Imam Bargah Road in Dhok Kala Khan. Water also accumulated in Javed Colony, Jamia Masjid Road, Katarian, and Murree Road, creating difficulties for residents and commuters.
