The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has announced that all public and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed on August 4, 2026, in observance of Chehlum (20 Safar 1448 AH).
According to an official notification issued on July 31, 2026, the holiday was approved by the Steering Committee during its meeting held on February 12, 2026.
The notification states that all schools and educational institutions working under the administrative control of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, will observe the public holiday on Tuesday, August 4.

The department has instructed all concerned authorities, including district education officials, education boards and private educational institutions, to implement the notification and ensure it is circulated to all relevant stakeholders.
The holiday will be observed by both government and private educational institutions across Sindh.
