A huge forest fire swept through the Dongagali area in the Galiyat tourist belt of Abbottabad, destroying hundreds of trees and countless plants as it spread rapidly, according to the report on Sunday.
The blaze began in a forest near Dongagali National Park and quickly burned through a large section of woodland, raising serious concerns for the wildlife living there.
Local sources said the fire moved at a frightening pace, turning vast areas into ash before any firefighting teams could reach the site.
Officials have not yet identified what sparked the fire, while residents voiced frustration over the lack of an immediate effort to control it.
Environmental specialists say the loss of such a large stretch of greenery could create lasting ecological damage in the Galiyat region, which is known for its rich biodiversity and is one of northern Pakistan’s major tourist destinations.
