Slow internet expected in Pakistan during transworld maintenance

Transworld Internet maintenance in Pakistan is scheduled to start on April 9 at 6:30 pm and continue until April 13 at 5:00 am. During this period, users across the country may experience slower internet speeds or brief service interruptions.

The maintenance is being conducted in coordination with international partners to ensure the long-term reliability of Pakistan’s key internet infrastructure.

Transworld has warned that users may notice temporary slowdowns or intermittent connectivity issues and advised them to be prepared for possible disruptions rather than expect consistent performance.

Although the provider has not specified the full impact, experts say repairs and upgrades to submarine cables often affect traffic on major data routes. These undersea cables carry a large portion of international internet traffic, and maintenance usually requires rerouting, which can slow connections, especially during peak hours.

During previous maintenance periods, users in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad reported slower page loads and occasional buffering. Transworld stressed that these effects are typically short-lived and that routine internet maintenance is essential to prevent larger outages and maintain network stability.

The company has urged customers to plan important online tasks outside the maintenance window whenever possible. Infrastructure specialists note that regular upkeep is necessary to keep the network stable and reliable, even if it causes temporary inconvenience for users.
