A speeding SUV, registered in the name of JDC Foundation’s Syed Zafar Abbas, crashed into a motorcycle near Ancholi, leaving two young men badly injured.
According to reports, the vehicle was being driven by Abbas’s driver, Raib Raza Naqvi, at the time of the crash.
The victims, Abdul Ahad, 18, and his 19-year-old cousin Hanif, were riding the motorcycle when the accident took place. Ahad’s condition is said to be very serious.
The SUV, carrying the registration number LEH-0110, hit the motorcycle at high speed and then fled the spot. Witnesses said the vehicle’s number plate came off during the collision, and someone on the scene picked it up.
The injured were taken to a hospital on Shara e Faisal. Later, they were shifted to another medical facility for further treatment.
Syed Zafar Abbas is said to have visited the first hospital and helped arrange the transfer of the injured men to the second hospital.
Samanabad Station House Officer Rana Ajmal stated that both the vehicle and the driver were removed from the scene after the incident.
Police tried to record the victims’ statements at the hospital, but due to their critical condition, the statements could not be taken.
