Xiaomi, the Chinese technology giant, is set to expand its presence in the electric vehicle (EV) market by introducing two new models, including a hybrid.
This move is aimed at boosting sales and establishing Xiaomi as a major player in the competitive Chinese electric car industry. After recently entering the EV market with the Xiaomi SU7, codenamed “Modenat,” the company now has three models in the pipeline.
While two will be battery electric vehicles (BEVs), the details about the third, codenamed Kunlun, remain undisclosed. Although there were earlier rumors about Kunlun being an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV), no confirmation has been provided.
Notably, the demand for various EV models in China has witnessed a significant 35% year-on-year increase this year.
The launch of SU7 is expected soon after completing regulatory processes, with mass production commencing this month according to local reports.
