Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has pleasantly surprised consumers by reducing the prices of various Swift car models by up to Rs 710,000, effective May 1.
This decision is a relief for consumers, especially following the company’s previous price hike in March.
As per the company’s notification to authorized dealers, the Suzuki Swift GLMT will now be priced at Rs 4.33 million, down from Rs 4.42 million.
The Swift GL CVT model has seen a notable reduction of Rs 159,000, now priced at Rs 4.56 million. Meanwhile, the Suzuki Swift GLX CVT has witnessed the most substantial price cut of Rs 710,000, bringing its price down to Rs 4.71 million from Rs 5.42 million.
This reduction in prices is welcomed by consumers, who had earlier faced a price hike of up to Rs 1.8 million in March, with the company attributing the increase to the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.
It’s worth noting that Honda Atlas Cars Limited had also decreased the prices of its City MT 1.2L and City CVT 1.2L models by up to Rs 1.4 lakh in March, seen as a strategic move to enhance sales and remain competitive.

While Pak Suzuki has not revealed the reasons behind the price cut, industry experts speculate it could be a response to the government’s recent increase in the general sales tax (GST) rate on locally assembled vehicles from 18% to 25%.
