British-Pakistani journalist and film producer Reham Khan recently talked about the backlash faced due to advising Hania Aamir.

Advise her to delay marriage and prioritize her career.

Speaking on a podcast, Reham explained the reasoning behind her remarks.

Reham, who produced Hania Aamir’s debut film “Janaan” in 2016, tells the importance of financial stability and personal growth before choosing marriage.

She highlighted that marriage requires both emotional and economic readiness.

“I believe a person should marry when they feel, I have arrived, and I need a companion now, she said.

She pointed out the societal and biological pressures women often face in their 20s and 30s, stressing that marriage doesn’t always lead to the expected life.

“Many girls think they will gain freedom after marriage, but that’s not always the case, she cautioned.

“One should never get married just for the sake of it or due to societal pressure. Marriage should be a choice, not a necessity.”

Reham also shared that she gives similar advice to her daughters, encouraging them to achieve financial and emotional independence first.

“I’m not against marriage as an institution, she mentions, “but I believe it’s not suitable for everyone. First, make yourself strong in your career and then think about companionship if you wish.”

Previously, Reham advised Hania Aamir to focus on her thriving career and expressed hope that the actress will also eventually succeed in Bollywood.
