- Royal Family corrects oversight, removes “His Royal Highness” references from Prince Harry’s website page.
- References were related to Harry’s work on HIV/AIDS awareness.
- Titles now updated to “the Duke or the Duke of Sussex” to reflect his dukedom after marrying Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry’s page on the royal family’s website has been corrected to remove references to his “His Royal Highness” title. An oversight led to the title still being used in his bio, but the page has now been updated to reflect his proper titles. These references were tied to his past work on HIV/AIDS awareness. The titles have been replaced with “the Duke or the Duke of Sussex,” acknowledging his dukedom received after marrying Meghan Markle in 2018.
The royal family’s website remains in the process of updating following Queen Elizabeth’s passing. Outdated content still refers to Queen Elizabeth as the current monarch, King Charles as “the Prince of Wales,” and Queen Camilla as “the Duchess of Cornwall.”
After stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan lost their “HRH” titles. Although they are no longer working members of the royal family, they are formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Informally, they often refer to themselves as “Harry” and “Meghan.”
Despite their changed roles, Prince Harry retained his position in the line of succession to the throne. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, also maintain their places in the line of succession, now with updated titles reflecting their grandfather’s ascension to the throne.
The titles of prince and princess for Archie and Lili align with historical precedent set by King George V, establishing these titles for male line grandchildren of the sovereign. Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children’s titles have been established and confirmed by Buckingham Palace.
Recently, Prince Harry arrived in Japan for the ISPS Sports Values Summit-Special Edition, where he was seen wearing attire associated with the Archewell Foundation, the organization he co-founded with Meghan.
