Toyota has officially introduced the locally assembled Corolla Cross Hybrid, marking Indus Motor Company’s (IMC) entry into the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) market.
The unveiling took place at a ceremony in Karachi attended by Toyota officials and government dignitaries.
During the ceremony, Mohamedali R. Habib, Chairman of IMC, expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their support, emphasizing the significance of this milestone in strengthening the bond between Japan and Pakistan.

Yoshiyuki Takai, President of Toyota’s Emerging-market Compact Car Company and Executive Vice President of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing, highlighted the increasing preference for HEVs among consumers in Asian countries.
He expressed optimism that Pakistani customers would find the Corolla Cross HEV appealing, efficient, and exhilarating, echoing its success in other markets. Asad Rehman Gilani, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production.
Extended congratulations to Toyota and underscored the government’s commitment to supporting the auto sector in incorporating hybrid and electric technologies in Pakistan. He also emphasized the importance of boosting exports to reduce the trade deficit.
IMC’s CEO, Ali Asghar Jamali, provided details about the Corolla Cross Hybrid, mentioning the inclusion of an 1800cc engine.
Offering options for both hybrid and gasoline drivetrains. The vehicle will come in variations of low and high-grade models.
Despite the unveiling, IMC has not disclosed information regarding the car’s availability or pricing. A recent viral letter claiming details about the launch and price was refuted by the company.
