The District Education Authority (DEA) Rawalpindi has issued show-cause notices to 14 private educational institutions for conducting classes and other academic activities during the officially announced summer vacations.
According to a notice issued by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DEA, the institutions continued academic activities despite the summer vacation schedule announced by the Punjab School Education Department, which is in effect from May 22 to August 23, 2026.
The DEA stated that the institutions had breached government instructions by continuing classes during the notified summer break. They may face administrative action under the rules applicable to private educational institutions.

The authority has asked the principals or authorised representatives of the institutions to appear before the CEO (DEA) for a personal hearing. They have also been directed to submit written explanations along with relevant supporting documents.
The DEA warned that institutions failing to appear or provide a satisfactory explanation could face ex parte proceedings based on the available record. It has also instructed all private schools to immediately stop conducting classes during the officially notified summer vacation.
