The Meteorological Department has said that monsoon currents continue to move into the upper and central parts of the country, while a westerly wave is also affecting the upper regions.
Due to these weather conditions, rain, wind and thundershowers are expected in several parts of the country over the coming days.
Kashmir
Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur are likely to receive rain and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy rainfall, from the night of August 21 to August 23 with occasional breaks.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
Rain, wind and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Hangu, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, D.I. Khan, Bannu and Waziristan from the evening or night of August 21 through August 23, with occasional gaps.
Islamabad and Upper Punjab
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Attock, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib are expected to receive rain, wind and thundershowers, including isolated heavy rainfall, from the evening or night of August 21 until the morning of August 23.
Rain and thunderstorms are also expected in Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Noorpur, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Layyah, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and D.G. Khan on August 22.
Gilgit-Baltistan
Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar may experience rain, wind and thundershowers from the evening or night of August 21 to August 23, with occasional breaks.
Sindh and Balochistan
Most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain hot and humid. However, Musakhel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kalat and Khuzdar may receive rain, wind and thundershowers on the evening or night of August 21 and again on August 22.
