Islamabad experienced sudden heavy rain and a hailstorm early today, disrupting the capital.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported that the hailstorm was accompanied by strong winds and intermittent heavy rainfall. Areas including Shehzad Town, Bahria Enclave, F-6, G-7, and I-10 faced waterlogging, slow-moving traffic, and minor damage to property.
Emergency services and municipal teams were quickly deployed to clear blocked roads and help stranded motorists. Despite the disruption, no major injuries have been reported. Residents expressed both surprise and concern over the sudden weather change, highlighting the need for timely alerts.
Residents shared videos of the hailstorm and heavy rain, capturing dramatic scenes of the abrupt weather.
Meteorologists have forecast similar unstable conditions in the coming days, warning of possible hail and rainfall across the region. Citizens are advised to stay indoors during severe weather and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department also predicted rainfall in many parts of the country. Areas expected to receive rain include Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Sargodha. Rain is also likely in Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Khushab, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Layyah, and Bhakkar.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts are expected to remain partly cloudy, while Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, and Malakand may see rain.

Other districts including Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Khyber, Orakzai, Sawabi, and Charsadda, also have chances of rainfall.
Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain dry, though isolated showers may occur in Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Muslim Bagh.
Meteorologists warned that unstable weather will continue in the coming days and urged citizens to follow safety instructions and stay indoors during heavy rain or hail.
