The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has started online registration for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), officially beginning the admission process for medical students across the country.
According to PMDC, candidates can submit applications with the standard fee until July 8, 2026, while those applying with a late fee can register until July 13, 2026. The MDCAT exam will be conducted nationwide on August 16, 2026.
The test will include a total of 180 multiple-choice questions. These will consist of 81 questions from Biology, 45 from Chemistry, and 36 from Physics. The English and Logical Reasoning sections will have 9 questions each.
PMDC also stated that the paper will include 15 percent easy questions, 70 percent moderate questions, and 15 percent difficult questions to assess students’ knowledge and reasoning abilities fairly.
In Punjab, including Lahore, the exam will be held in 15 cities as part of nationwide arrangements to facilitate candidates.
