Asma Abbas, a prominent figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, comes from a lineage deeply rooted in arts and culture. From her father, the literary legend Ahmed Basheer, to her daughter, the acclaimed actress Zara Noor Abbas Siddiqui, the magic continues.
These three generations made significant contributions to Pakistan’s cultural landscape. Asma carved a remarkable career of her own, first winning hearts as a young heroine and then returning to the screen after raising her children with memorable performances.
She acted in dramas like Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, Radd, and Chaudhary & Sons. Speaking on Hina Niazi’s show, Asma opened up about her battles, especially her challenging health journey.
As a cancer survivor, she described the treatment as extremely painful and revealed that she also suffers from other conditions, including diabetes, and that she had a cervical surgery.
Despite the physical toll, Asma maintained an unwavering faith in Allah and a joyful spirit. She shared that she has witnessed the sudden loss of loved ones, her sister Sumbul and her nephew Sherry, who had no prior health conditions.

She started reinforcing her belief that life and death are solely in Allah’s hands. Her resilience and positive outlook are evident in her actions. She made a point of dressing up, with makeup and styled hair, even when visiting the hospital.
She did so because she wanted to look and feel her best. Asma also revealed her deep bond with her daughter Zara, with whom she shares daily conversations and emotional closeness.

However, this closeness also worries her. Asma fears that Zara may struggle profoundly with her eventual loss, prompting her to consider creating a little emotional distance to help Zara cope better in the future.
