The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that the heatwave in Karachi will continue for the next 24 hours.
The city is expected to experience hot and dry conditions, with clear skies and mild daytime winds.
According to PMD, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 20°C over the next day.
This heatwave is caused by a high-pressure system over Rajasthan, India, and is expected to continue until Wednesday.
However, a temperature drop is predicted from Thursday as the system weakens and a new high-pressure zone forms over the Arabian Sea.
Although this system is currently far from Karachi, it may bring strong winds as it approaches, leading to a drop in temperatures to around 33-34°C.
Meanwhile, rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills are expected in isolated parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, Potohar, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 12 hours.
Other areas of the country are likely to see partly cloudy conditions.
Recorded morning temperatures in major cities:
Islamabad – 14°C, Lahore – 19°C, Peshawar – 15°C, Quetta – 17°C, Gilgit – 9°C, Murree – 5°C, and Muzaffarabad – 10°C.
