According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the weather in Karachi will stay cold and dry over the next 24 hours, with clear skies expected throughout the day. Temperatures are likely to peak at 28°C, while the minimum may drop to 11°C.
The department also forecasts that Winds will blow at speeds between 10 to 25 kilometers per hour from the north and northeast during the day, which will keep the air cool.
Authorities have advised residents to take precautions, especially during the early morning and late evening, when the cold is more pronounced.
This chilly spell is expected to continue for the next few days, keeping temperatures below the seasonal norm.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) is facing intense cold, with temperatures falling to -6°C in mountainous regions, accompanied by snowfall.
Peshawar, the provincial capital, recorded a temperature of 6°C, while Kalam dropped to -6°C, and Malam Jabba reached -2°C.
The meteorological department predicts that most of K-P will remain cold and dry, with some areas, including Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Bajaur, possibly experiencing light rain.
Snowfall is expected to persist in high-altitude areas, making the winter even harsher. Other regions, including Chitral, Parachinar, and Dir Bala, are also witnessing extremely low temperatures, with Parachinar and Dir Bala both recording -3°C.
The ongoing cold wave is likely to persist, with no major change expected in weather patterns in the coming days.
Authorities have warned of heavy snowfall and further temperature drops in high-altitude areas, urging residents to take necessary precautions.
As winter maintains its grip, people across K-P continue to face challenges due to the extreme cold, with daily life being significantly affected.
