Abu Dhabi is closing roads on Monday because of a men’s cycling race called the UAE Tour.
The closures will happen from 12:35 pm to 4:30 pm in Madinat Zayed, Al Dhafra Region.
This is for the first stage of the race, which is 143km long, starting from Al Dhafra Walk Madinat Zayed to Liwa Palace.
Here’s the breakdown of the closures:
- First closure: 12:35 pm – 1:00 pm
- Second phase: 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm
- Third phase: 1:45 pm – 1:55 pm
- Fourth phase: 1:55 pm – 2:15 pm
- Fifth phase: 2:15 pm – 3:05 pm
- Sixth phase: 3:05 pm – 3:30 pm
- Seventh phase: 3:30 pm – 3:40 pm
- Eighth and final phase: 3:40 pm – 4:30 pm
The UAE Tour Men’s race will run from February 19 to 25, covering a total distance of 980km across seven stages.
There will be equal chances for sprinters and climbers, with four stages suitable for sprinters and two mountain stages on Jebel Jais and Jebel Hafeet.
