Sharjah Museums Authority is offering free entry to several museums in Sharjah until March 3, 2024.
This initiative allows both residents and tourists to explore the culture and heritage of the Emiratis.
Some of the featured museums include Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn), Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Bait Al Naboodah, and Hisn Khorfakkan.
Additionally, there’s a mobile museum bus called ‘Museums Express’ operating in Dibba Al Hisn and the Heart of Sharjah on specific days.
In addition to free entry, visitors can participate in hands-on workshops to learn more about the heritage of the region.
For example, workshops at Al Hisn Towers in Sharjah Fort cover its history, while Bait Al Naboodah offers sessions on painting floral and geometric designs.
The Sharjah Calligraphy Museum conducts workshops on crafting pendants with Arabic letters.
Various exhibitions are also taking place, such as ‘Geometric and Floral Ornaments’ at Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi and ‘The Art of Architectural Decoration in the Emirate of Sharjah’ at Bait Al Naboodah.
The Sharjah Calligraphy Museum is hosting the exhibition “Honourable Ornament” until August 18, 2024.
The museums are open from Saturday to Thursday, 8 am to 8 pm, and on Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm. For more information on events, timings, and locations, visitors can check the SMA website.
