The Sindh government has once again revised the operating hours for both government and private educational institutions due to prevailing cold wave, extending the adjustment until January 31.
A notification issued by the provincial School Education and Literacy Department on January 8 revealed that activities in public and private schools under its jurisdiction would now commence from 9:00 am onwards.
It’s noteworthy that this modification is not applicable to schools in the Karachi region, where the opening time remains at 8:30 am.
This recent change contrasts with the prior notification, which initially mandated a uniform starting time of 8:30 am for all government and private schools under the administrative control of the School Education and Literacy Department.
The decision to alter school timings is attributed to the ongoing cold weather conditions, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. As winter persists, such adjustments aim to provide a more suitable and secure environment for educational activities across the region.
