In the wake of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan’s star fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is anticipated to tie the knot with Ansha Afridi, daughter of former cricket legend Shahid Afridi. Although the families have not officially confirmed the wedding date, sources suggest that the wedding ceremony is scheduled for September 19, followed by the Valima reception on September 21, both to be held in Islamabad.
Shahid Afridi had previously hinted at the September wedding festivities earlier this year, sharing the news during an interview with a private news channel. Currently, Shaheen is representing Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, which is set to conclude on September 17.
The couple initially got married earlier this year in Karachi, with a reception attended by prominent cricketers like Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and squash legend Jahangir Khan. Their Mehndi function took place a day before the Nikah ceremony. Shaheen and Ansha had been engaged for two years before their marriage.

Reflecting on their relationship, Shaheen mentioned that it was his idea to marry Ansha. Their families had a long-standing friendship, and their elders were acquainted, which facilitated the proposal process. Shaheen couldn’t pinpoint a specific “first meet-up” since they had known each other for a while, having frequently visited each other’s homes.
Shaheen expressed gratitude for having a supportive life partner, noting that Ansha may not be heavily involved in the spotlight but has always been a pillar of support in his life.
The wedding ceremonies of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Ansha Afridi are eagerly anticipated to take place in September following the conclusion of the Asia Cup 2023, marking a joyous union between cricketing families.
