Saudi Arabia has recently unveiled a new scheme aimed at facilitating Umrah for foreigners who meet the eligibility criteria. According to a statement posted on social media by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Saudi nationals are now permitted to invite friends to the Kingdom on a “personal visit visa” for the specific purpose of performing Umrah.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has outlined the key provisions of this program, stating that foreign nationals arriving on a personal visit visa will have the opportunity to obtain an entry visa for one or more visits. This new flexibility is expected to make the pilgrimage experience more accessible and convenient for eligible foreign visitors.
Moreover, the ministry has announced that individuals holding this special visa will not only be allowed to perform Umrah but will also be granted the privilege of visiting the Prophet’s Mosque. Additionally, they will be able to explore various historical places and cultural centers located in different cities across Saudi Arabia.
Another significant aspect of the program is that foreigners arriving on Principal Visit Visas will have the freedom to travel to any city or region within the Kingdom. This will enable them to experience the diverse landscapes and cultural heritage that Saudi Arabia has to offer.
The initiative has been met with enthusiasm by both Saudi nationals and foreigners eligible for Umrah. The program aims to foster stronger ties between the Kingdom and its international visitors, making the pilgrimage a more enriching and memorable experience for all.
