Renowned Pakistani actor-host Sahir Lodhi has addressed the long-standing comparison to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan in a recent appearance on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast ‘Excuse Me.’
Lodhi, with a career spanning two decades, expressed his view on the ‘lookalike’ tag, considering it more ‘condescending’ than a compliment.
He emphasized the differences in their career paths, with Shahrukh Khan being an actor and Lodhi primarily in hosting.
Further, speaking about the resemblance, he said, “See, it’s not my fault. Nor is it his,” before revealing his conversation with SRK. “The thing is, he’s a great man. The greatest thing about Shahrukh that I can tell you is that when I met him, we hugged and we smiled and he said, ‘You’re a very good-looking man,’ and I said, ‘So are you sir.’ He said, ‘Of course, it’s just the two of us.’ That was him.”
Despite the resemblance, Lodhi revealed a pleasant encounter with SRK, where they exchanged compliments about each other’s looks. Sahir Lodhi asserted that “I never felt that I resembled him and I’ve never tried to portray him on or off-screen.”
