HUB: A rare whale was sighted near Gadani coast, Gwadar for the first time. Local fishermen captured a video of the unusual black whale while fishing in the sea, approximately 2 to 3 kilometers away from the coast.
In the footage, excited fishermen can be seen sharing their enthusiasm, with some cautioning others to keep their distance as the whale could pose a threat, while others made light-hearted jokes, referring to it as a shark.
Back in 2020, another rare sighting occurred when a humpback whale was spotted off the Balochistan coast. The viral footage depicted the massive creature leaping out of the water.
The whale was discovered by local fishermen during a fishing trip along the Balochistan shore. They recorded and shared the extraordinary encounter on social media.
According to reports, the World Wide Fund’s (WWF) Technical Advisor revealed that the humpback whale is classified as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, with only around 100 individuals of this species remaining worldwide.
He emphasized that humpback whales are found in the waters of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Oman, and Iran.
