In compliance with the directives of Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police has introduced an electronic driving license system, aimed at enhancing convenience for citizens.
Under this initiative, individuals can easily obtain their electronic driving license by registering their national identity card and date of birth on the Punjab Traffic Police’s website, known as DLIMS (Driving License Issuance Management System).
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that the electronic driving license can be downloaded in PDF format and stored on mobile devices, ensuring easy accessibility while traveling. Notably, the e-driving license incorporates a QR code feature, enabling traffic police to verify license details swiftly. This digital license includes a comprehensive profile, complete with a color photo, address, and licensing information.
Highlighting the significant progress made in this endeavor, Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the Punjab Police has successfully issued driving licenses to over 3 million citizens this year. Furthermore, the number of licensing centers across the province has expanded from 45 to more than 200.
Dr. Usman Anwar expressed his commendation for the outstanding performance of traffic police and wardens in implementing this initiative. He also called upon citizens to diligently adhere to traffic regulations and road rules, emphasizing that compliance with these rules plays a pivotal role in reducing traffic accidents.
