The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) revealed its Cyber Security plan for the country’s telecom sector on Wednesday.
This comprehensive strategy, spanning from 2023 to 2028, is a crucial move in implementing the National Cyber Security Policy of 2021, aiming to enhance digital security in the rapidly evolving telecom industry.
The strategy is based on six key pillars, addressing specific aspects of cyber security, including legal framework, cyber resilience, proactive monitoring and incident response, capacity building, cooperation and collaboration, and public awareness.

A key feature of the strategy is its emphasis on a multi-stakeholder approach, promoting active collaboration between public and private sectors, regulatory bodies, telecom operators, private security firms, academia, and civil society.
This initiative not only advances cyber security but also represents a significant step toward creating a more digitally secure and resilient Pakistan.
