- Customers report year-long delays in Al-Haj Proton X70 SUV deliveries.
- Anonymous customer writes to Ministry of Industries and Production about the issue.
- Additional complaints arise, including refund problems and lack of company response.
In the previous week, a customer of Al-Haj Proton share details of a one-year delay in receiving their X70 SUV.
The customer, who chose to remain anonymous, also sent a letter to the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP), expressing dissatisfaction. They took legal action against Proton’s authorized dealership, alleging a lack of response to similar customer grievances.
In the days following, more individuals approached with similar concerns. One customer revealed they made a booking on August 12, 2021, and despite full payment in December 2022, the delivery hasn’t taken place, causing a two-year wait.
Another customer highlighted the emotional distress caused by this issue and expressed frustration over the absence of relief from the company or the dealership.
Numerous others raised problems related to refunds of booking amounts. A customer recounted that their refund cheque bounced twice last year and warned of filing a police report if it happens again in late August 2023.
Despite multiple voices speaking out, Al-Haj Proton has yet to issue a statement or address the situation. Affected customers have also called for government involvement, though authorities have remained silent on the matter thus far.
