These revised fuel prices will be in effect for the second half of September 2023.
The government’s decision to increase fuel prices is attributed to several factors, including the rising trend of petroleum prices in the international market and fluctuations in exchange rates. The authorities contend that these adjustments are necessary to align local fuel prices with global market dynamics.
It’s worth noting that in the previous review conducted two weeks ago, the caretaker Federal Government had already raised petrol prices by Rs. 17.50 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs. 20.00 per litre. Consequently, the prices stood at Rs. 290.45 per litre for petrol and Rs. 293.40 per litre for high-speed diesel prior to the recent increase.
These periodic adjustments in fuel prices reflect the government’s efforts to manage the economic impact of fluctuating global fuel prices and currency exchange rates, ensuring that consumers are kept informed about the changing costs of these essential commodities.
