In a covert move, the interim government has unleashed a financial burden on the public by significantly raising fuel prices overnight.
A substantial surge of Rs 17.50 per litre has been imposed on petrol.
The revised cost of petrol now stands at 290 rupees and 45 paise per litre.
Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel has been escalated by 20 rupees per liter.

The Ministry of Finance has officially communicated this change through a formal notice.
Effective from Wednesday, the hike in prices was formally introduced, as indicated in a notification released late Tuesday.
