The trailer was launched by Disney+ on August 19, coinciding with the birthday of the fictional protagonist, Percy Jackson.
The forthcoming show, adapted from Rick Riordan’s bestselling book series, is scheduled to debut on December 20, 2023, with its first two episodes on Disney+. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly.
Drawing inspiration from the initial book, The Lightning Thief, the first season chronicles the journey of Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old modern demigod, who grapples with newfound divine abilities. Accused by Zeus of stealing his potent lightning bolt, Percy, alongside friends Grover and Annabeth, embarks on a monumental quest to recover it and restore balance to Olympus.
