The federal government of Pakistan has taken action by blocking 219 websites based on recommendations from law enforcement agencies and various government departments.
These sites were flagged for containing inappropriate content such as pornography, blasphemy, and anti-state material. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) executed the blocking, acting on suggestions from entities like ISI, FIA, CTD Punjab, SECP, SBP, BISP, Ministry of Religious Affairs, NADRA, PTML Ufone, Jazz, Fauji, and Foundation.
The central bank and FIA proposed blocking E-currency platforms and explicit content sites, while SECP advised against loan lending websites.
Additionally, ISI recommended blocking malicious websites, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs flagged blasphemous content. PTA also acted on public requests to block certain websites.
