Microsoft plans to organize a meeting with top executives from four major South Korean tech companies at the MS CEO Summit 2024, scheduled for May 14, 2024. The closed-door discussion will involve Samsung, SK Hynix, LG Electronics, SK Telecom, and Microsoft.
Bill Gates and CEO Satya Nadella will join the discussions with executives such as Kyung Kye-hyun from Samsung Electronics Device Solutions Division, Kwak Noh-jung from SK Hynix, Cho Joo-wan from LG Electronics, and Ryu Young-sang from SK Telecom.
The primary aim of the meeting is to explore opportunities for strengthening partnerships and advancing artificial intelligence (AI) development.
Talks with Samsung and SK Hynix are expected to focus on the supply of high bandwidth memory chips (HBM), crucial for AI development, as both companies are leading memory chipmakers.
In addition to memory chips, discussions may involve high-performance solid-state drives and compute express link drives, essential components for large language model (LLM) development. This shift underscores Microsoft’s commitment to enhancing its AI capabilities.
Furthermore, Microsoft may discuss integrating its AI services into products with Samsung and LG Electronics, expanding their customer base and product categories while solidifying partnerships.
