The Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has designated Fawad Hasan Fawad as the head of the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ministry, a pivotal portfolio overseeing various aspects, including the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
This move highlights the crucial role played by the IPC Ministry in governing not only inter-provincial matters but also overseeing key national entities like the PCB.
The IPC Ministry has recently issued a notification, announcing alterations that signal the imminent conclusion of Zaka Ashraf’s term as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Management Committee.

It is noteworthy that Zaka Ashraf took on the role of PCB chairman in July of this year. Throughout his tenure, the PCB has faced substantial scrutiny, particularly from former players, with a focus intensifying during the World Cup 2023.
In response to the criticism, Ashraf initiated significant transformations in Pakistan cricket.
He appointed former fast bowler Wahab Riaz as the Chief Selector for Pakistan cricket and named Mohammad Hafeez as the Technical Director for Pakistan cricket.
A pivotal moment unfolded with the resignation of Babar Azam from captaincy across all formats.
This decision led to the appointment of Shan Masood as the Test captain and Shaheen Shah Afridi as the T20 captain, introducing a new dynamic to the landscape of Pakistan cricket.
