In the early hours of Tuesday, a widespread occurrence of rain accompanied by thunderstorms brought relief from the prior intense heat and humidity in Lahore and neighboring regions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted further rainfall in Lahore, as well as in other districts within the province.
This downpour has effectively ended a period of oppressive weather, offering a welcome break for the inhabitants of the provincial capital.
Hot Weather in Some Regions
The Meteorological office has indicated that while most districts in the province will experience hot weather, areas like Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, and Hafizabad can expect rain, wind, or thundershowers during the daytime.
As for the current day’s weather, on Monday, the temperature in Lahore had risen to around 31°C before noon. It’s anticipated that the mercury could reach up to 35 degrees, given the mostly sunny conditions prevailing after the rain. Humidity levels were recorded at approximately 80%.
Wind Speed
The maximum UV index measured stood at 4, which is categorized as moderate. The wind speed reached 10 km/h, with visibility extending to about 5 km.
Despite the recent rainfall, the air quality in Lahore, a city once renowned for its gardens, was gauged at 71, signifying poor air quality. Pollution levels have risen considerably, reaching an unhealthy point for sensitive individuals. If symptoms such as breathing difficulties or throat irritation are experienced, it’s advised to limit outdoor activities.
Hot And Humid Conditions
The Meteorological Office has noted that continental air continues to dominate most parts of the nation. Expectations are for mainly hot and humid conditions across the plains, while sporadic rain, wind, or thundershowers might occur in specific locations like northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and nearby areas.
