- Kate Middleton faced challenges in receiving due recognition as a royal.
- The comparison was influenced by the significant difference in family backgrounds.
- Kate Middleton’s journey included the unique aspect of being a ‘commoner’ who pursued a university degree.
Kate Middleton’s journey into the public eye, as noted by Christopher Andersen in an interview with Fox News Digital, often saw her not receiving the recognition she deserved when compared to other prominent royals like Princess Diana, Queen Camilla, and the late Queen Elizabeth II. This comparison was largely influenced by the difference in their family backgrounds.
Andersen pointed out that the royal lineage of these iconic women set them apart from Kate Middleton. “Kate Middleton is always being compared to Princess Diana, Queen Camilla, even the late Queen Elizabeth II,” he acknowledged. “Don’t forget, all those women were born to the purple.”
In contrast, Kate’s family background was rooted in coal miners, which created a perception of her being less royal when compared to Princess Diana, who hailed from a lineage of powerful and affluent aristocrats.
Andersen emphasized, “Diana was a Spencer, which meant she came from a long line of powerful and wealthy aristocrats. Camilla is the granddaughter of a baron. And from the age of 10, Elizabeth knew that she would someday be queen. Kate, however, is a descendant of coal miners. Her mother grew up in public housing and worked as a flight attendant.”
Furthermore, Andersen highlighted the unique path Kate Middleton had to forge due to her ‘commoner’ background. Princess Diana stood out as the only future queen with a university degree, holding an MA in History of Art from St Andrews University.
This fact underscored Kate Middleton’s journey towards establishing her own identity beyond the ‘commoner’ image she was initially associated with. “Not only will she be the first truly commoner queen, but she will be the first queen with a university degree,” Andersen noted.
