Karachi – A city of lights is facing a lot of problem as heavy rainfall paralyzed the city, leaving many residents stranded on the streets.
The impact of the rain was particularly noticeable on major roads such as Shahrah-e-Faisal and Jahangir Road, where flooding caused traffic disruptions. Furthermore, underpasses were submerged, adding to the challenges for commuters.
The situation worsened as the rainfall intensified, leading to electricity feeders tripping and causing power outages in several neighbourhoods, plunging them into darkness.
What started as light rain escalated into a heavy downpour, accompanied by strong winds in areas like Surjani Town, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Johar, Saddar, Jamshed Road, and their surroundings.
The adverse weather conditions have presented a series of challenges, affecting not only the smooth flow of traffic but also essential services throughout different parts of the city.
The combined impacts of flooding, power outages, and strong winds have created significant difficulties for both residents and authorities, necessitating swift measures to address the aftermath of the heavy rainfall and its repercussions.
