In a recent interview, Hasan Ali, a Pakistani cricketer, shared his eagerness to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), considered one of the world’s top T20 cricket leagues. Despite the fact that Pakistani players have been excluded from the IPL since its first season, Hasan Ali remains hopeful about the opportunity.
Hasan Ali stated, “Every player dreams of participating in the IPL, and it is my wish as well. It is one of the biggest leagues globally, and I will definitely play there if there is an opportunity in the future.”
It’s worth noting that prominent Pakistani cricketers such as Shoaib Malik, Shoaib Akhtar, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanvir, and Shahid Afridi featured in the initial season of the IPL but didn’t continue after 2008. Azhar Mahmood, a former Pakistani all-rounder, played for Punjab Kings using a British passport. There’s also speculation that Mohammad Amir, on the verge of acquiring British citizenship, might follow suit and join the IPL in the future.
Hasan Ali’s desire to participate in the IPL highlights the league’s global appeal, transcending borders and attracting players from various cricketing nations.
