In a historic development in Balochistan, the Jaffarabad district saw the appointment of its first-ever female Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on September 1. Hailing from Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Faryal Fareed assumed her role as Jaffarabad SSP, marking a significant milestone.
SSP Faryal received a warm welcome from the police personnel at the Jaffarabad district police office. Which including bouquets and salutes. Her first official act as SSP was to convene a meeting with her subordinate officers and police personnel.
Jaffarabad district, being a border area of the province, has historically faced challenges in maintaining law and order along the National Highway.
Notably, SSP Faryal achieved another milestone in 2018 when she became the first lady police officer. And was the first in the history of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) to be awarded the prestigious “Sword of Honour.” This recognition came during her tenure as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) for her exceptional performance during the training period at the National Police Academy.
It’s worth mentioning that her husband, Dr. Sami Malik, also serves in the police force . He was posted as Naseerabad SSP concurrently with Faryal’s appointment as Jaffarabad SSP.
