In recent days, Asad Abbas had slipped into a coma as his health took a severe downturn, ultimately leading to his demise on Tuesday. The singer’s condition had left him incapacitated, a poignant turn of events just prior to his passing. Earlier this year, he shared in an interview with Daily Pakistan the challenges he had been grappling with for the past seven years – a battle against kidney failure. His medical journey had amassed significant costs, with expenditures reaching approximately Rs70 million. To fund his treatment, his family had resorted to selling their properties in Lahore and Faisalabad.
Asad Abbas disclosed that even the prize money of Rs10 million and a Mercedes car, which he had won in a music competition, had been directed towards his medical care. The toll of his ailment extended beyond financial strain; he revealed that his mother had suffered a fatal heart attack upon learning that his illness had resurged despite costly and painful treatments.
