- Babar Azam unlikely to play in ILT20 due to payment and image rights concerns.
- Offered PKR 150 million contract.
- May opt for Bangladesh Premier League instead.
Babar Azam, the esteemed captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, is facing uncertainties about his participation in the upcoming second edition of the International League T20 (ILT20). His concerns revolve around payment matters and the preservation of his image rights. A tempting contract valued at PKR 150 million has been extended to him for the next season, coupled with the possibility of him becoming the league’s prominent figure.
However, Azam appears to be leaning towards an alternate option, as he is more inclined to join the Bangladesh Premier League, which is set to commence on January 10.
Interestingly, in the prior season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not permit players to partake in the ILT20. Nonetheless, for the impending season spanning from January 19 to February 18, star players like Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan are anticipated to unite under the banner of the Desert Vipers team.
