Apple is reportedly to retore its iPad Pro series with a major upgrade, possibly including OLED displays. This shift could result in thinner tablets compared to the current models, according to a recent report.
As per information from 9to5Mac, the redesigned OLED iPad Pro is expected to be more than 1mm thinner than the current versions.
For instance, the existing 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which is 6.4mm thick, could slim down to around 5mm.
Likewise, the 11-inch OLED iPad Pro might see a reduction in thickness from 5.9mm to 5.1mm. Both models could also see slight increases in height and width compared to their current counterparts.
Additionally, rumors suggest that Apple will introduce two sizes of iPad Air for the first time, one similar to the current model and another potentially matching the dimensions and screen size of the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Here are the approximate dimensions for the upcoming tablets:
- 11-inch iPad Pro (current): 247.6 mm x 178.5 mm x 5.9 mm
- 11-inch iPad Pro (new): 249.7 mm x 177.5 mm x 5.1 mm
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro (current): 280.6 mm x 214.9 mm x 6.4 mm
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro (new): 281.5 mm x 215.5 mm x 5.0 mm
- 12.9-inch iPad Air (new): 280.6 mm x 214.9 mm x 6.0 mm
Aside from the OLED display upgrade, Apple may introduce MagSafe technology to the iPad Pro lineup for the first time.
