Amazon Web Services has recently launched a new AI chatbot named Amazon Q, adding to the growing lineup of similar bots in the market. This customizable chatbot is designed for various business needs, allowing users to interact with it conversationally, akin to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Professionals in marketing, project management, and sales, particularly those utilizing AWS, can benefit from Amazon Q’s capabilities.
It can handle tasks like drafting emails, summarizing reports, and composing blog posts. IT professionals and developers can also leverage this chatbot for activities ranging from research and coding to troubleshooting bugs and building applications on Amazon’s cloud servers.
Amazon Q is seamlessly integrated with popular services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and Slack, providing users with additional data resources. Adam Selipsky, CEO of Amazon Web Services, envisions Amazon Q becoming a valuable work companion for millions of individuals in their professional lives.
Currently available to AWS users in specific regions of the United States, Amazon Q offers two tiers of service. The first is priced at $20 per month per user, while the second, tailored for technical staff with extra features, is priced at $25 per month per user.
This introduction places Amazon Q in the midst of a competitive landscape with other major tech companies unveiling AI chatbots over the past year. OpenAI introduced ChatGPT in November, followed by Microsoft’s AI-driven Bing search engine in February, and Google’s Bard chatbot made accessible to the public in March.
