The much-awaited film ‘Jigra,’ directed by Vasan Bala and starring Alia Bhatt, has unfortunately flopped at the box office and become one of the least profitable films.
The film, released on October 11, 2024, created a buzz for its secrecy and strong performances but failed to attract audiences, leading to discussions that it would not be a commercial success.
The story portrays Alia as a determined sister who embarks on a dangerous mission to save her brother. Despite the potential, the storyline failed to resonate with audiences, resulting in disappointment among fans and critics.
Director Vasan Bala acknowledged the film’s difficulties, saying, “Something happened where people were staying away,” showing his concern about the disconnect with the audience.
The film faced its share of problems before its release, including conflicts over script changes with Karan Johar and accusations of plagiarism from actress Divya Khosla, who claimed the film copied her work.
Currently, Jigra has won about ₹27.30 crores. This is lower than the recent famous actress ragged. Critics noted that although the first half of the film is interesting, the second half feels elongated and can use more editions to maintain the living rhythm.
In general, Jigra emphasizes the unpredictable nature of the films, leaving the fans and the observers behind the industry curious to pass.
