August 14 declared public holiday across Sindh

The Sindh government has announced Friday, August 14, 2026, as a public holiday across the province to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day.

A notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department on Monday stated that the holiday will be observed by all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils working under the Sindh government.

However, essential services will not be affected and will continue to operate as usual.

The provincial government issued the notification on August 10, officially declaring August 14 a public holiday across Sindh in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
