ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new facility to make the buying and selling of vehicles easier for the public.

As Pakistan’s national authority responsible for issuing identity documents to citizens at home and abroad, NADRA has been expanding its digital services in areas where identity verification is essential.

Under its latest initiative, the authority has launched version 5.6.8 of the Pak ID mobile application with new features designed to simplify vehicle-related services.

In collaboration with the Government of Balochistan, the updated app now provides digital vehicle cards for vehicles registered in the province. It also introduces a biometric verification service for vehicle buyers and sellers, NADRA said in a statement.

According to the authority, these services can now be accessed from home, making vehicle transfers and identity verification more convenient and secure.

NADRA expands self-service facilities

Earlier, NADRA also introduced self-service kiosks to improve access to its services.

The kiosks allow citizens to renew their National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). They can also be used to apply for a replacement NICOP if the original card is lost or damaged.

In addition, the kiosks enable users to complete the cancellation of a deceased family member’s NICOP.

At present, these self-service kiosks are available at selected NADRA centres.
