The Punjab government has decided to release salaries, allowances, and pensions for government employees and pensioners earlier than usual for July 2026.
A notification issued by the Punjab Finance Department on July 23 stated that payments will be made on July 31, 2026, instead of the regular schedule.
The decision was taken because August 1 and 2 fall on Saturday and Sunday, which are official public holidays. The Finance Department said the early payment was approved by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan under the relevant provisions of the Punjab Financial Rules.

The notification has been forwarded to the Accountant General Punjab, treasury officers, district accounts officers, commissioners, deputy commissioners, the State Bank of Pakistan, and commercial banks so all arrangements can be completed on time.
With this decision, government employees and pensioners across Punjab will receive their salaries and pensions before the weekend holidays.
