Karachi weather update: Humidity, clouds and light drizzle expected

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a three-day weather outlook for the Karachi Division, forecasting partly cloudy and humid weather from Saturday June 20 to Monday June 22. The report also suggests a chance of light and isolated drizzle continuing into the early part of the new week.

On Saturday, Karachi is expected to remain partly cloudy with high humidity. Isolated drizzle may occur during the night. Maximum temperatures are likely to stay between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius while minimum temperatures were around 29.5 degrees overnight. Morning humidity stood at 69 percent and is expected to drop to 55 to 65 percent by evening. Winds are expected from the southwest.

For Sunday, similar conditions are forecast with partly cloudy skies, humidity, and possible drizzle during morning and night hours. Temperatures are expected to range between 34 and 36 degrees for the maximum and 28 to 30 degrees for the minimum. Humidity levels may rise to 65 to 75 percent in the morning before easing later in the day, with southwesterly winds continuing.

Monday is also expected to follow the same pattern with partly cloudy and humid weather along with chances of isolated drizzle in the morning and night. Temperatures and humidity levels are expected to remain within a similar range as previous days.

For the wider outlook today, the PMD said a westerly wave is affecting parts of Sindh, bringing the possibility of duststorms, thunderstorms, and light rain or drizzle in several districts including Jacobabad, Kashmore, Kambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Larkana, Ghotki, Sukkur, Dadu, Khairpur, Sanghar, Nosheroferoz, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Jamshoro.

Coastal areas are likely to remain partly cloudy with chances of isolated drizzle. The department also warned that strong winds may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards in affected regions.

Farmers in these areas have been advised to adjust their agricultural activities according to the weather conditions.

Compared to interior Sindh, Karachi is expected to remain relatively stable with only light drizzle chances and moderate temperatures across the forecast period.

However, high humidity is likely to persist, especially in the mornings, making the weather feel warmer than actual temperatures suggest.

The PMD has urged all relevant authorities to stay alert and take precautionary measures in case of any weather related emergencies, particularly in districts where unstable conditions are expected.
