Several major roads in Islamabad closed from 4 PM to midnight

Authorities in Islamabad have issued a detailed traffic plan for the “Marka-E-Haq” event, with several key roads set to remain closed from 4 pm to midnight on Sunday. Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) said the arrangements are aimed at maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring security during the event.

According to the traffic advisory, Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) will not be allowed to enter the capital during the restricted timings, while the Faizabad Bus Terminal will remain shut.

The 26 Number Terminal, however, will continue operating for public convenience. Citizens have been advised to plan their journeys and follow alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

Several major routes linking Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain affected. Serena Chowk, Kohsar Market, and the road from PTV Chowk to Faizabad will stay closed. Motorists have been advised to use 9th Avenue, Blue Area, or Jinnah Avenue as alternate routes.

Traffic from Islamabad Club towards Faisal Avenue through Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy and Constitution Avenue will also remain suspended for a limited period.

The ITP has advised people travelling between Islamabad, Murree, Bhara Kahu, and the Motorway to use Colonel Sher Khan Road (IJP Road), Murree Road, and Jinnah Avenue to avoid traffic congestion near the Red Zone and Faizabad interchange.

Officials said additional traffic personnel and law enforcement officers will be deployed across the city to manage traffic and guide commuters.
