Punjab govt orders strict action against unregistered schools

The School Education Department has decided to step up action to ensure the registration of private schools across the province, directing authorities to take legal measures and impose fines on institutions operating without registration.

A special letter has been issued to all deputy commissioners and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Education, asking them to submit complete details of registered and unregistered schools in their districts.

The department has directed officials to send a full compliance report within seven days. Authorities have also been asked to share details of fines and recoveries collected from unregistered schools.

According to the department, building fitness certificates have now been made compulsory for both government and private schools to improve student safety and ensure educational institutions meet required standards.

All schools have been instructed to obtain building fitness certificates from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department.

The School Education Department stated that strict enforcement of school safety rules, registration requirements, and other regulations would continue, warning that schools violating the rules would face action.
